For sushi Pasadena diners can visit SUGARFISH on South Lake Avenue for Chef Kazunori Nozawa's focused approach. Choose a Trust Me menu, settle in, and enjoy a progression of sashimi, nigiri, and hand rolls prepared in the Nozawa style. The fish is cut to order, the rice is served warm and loosely packed, and every piece is sent out when its texture and temperature are where they should be.
It is a meal designed to keep your attention on what is in front of you. Nigiri is ready when it reaches the table. A hand roll is folded to order. There is no need to build a long order course by course. Pick the Trust Me menu that fits your appetite, then let the next piece arrive when it is ready.

At 146 S. Lake Ave., the easiest first visit is simple: arrive with everyone in your party, let the team know about any food allergies before you order, and give each course a moment when it reaches the table. The meal is built to move from the first bite through the final hand roll without asking you to manage the next decision.
Validated parking is $6 for the first two hours in the parking structure and adjacent surface lot behind the shopping center on Shoppers Lane. For time-sensitive restaurant questions, email pasadena@sugarfishsushi.com.
SUGARFISH Pasadena is closed on July 4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day. On Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, the restaurant closes at 3 pm.
The Trust Me menus are the clearest way to experience SUGARFISH Pasadena. Every menu follows a deliberate progression, beginning with sashimi, moving through nigiri, and finishing with hand rolls. Each course is prepared before it comes to the table, so you can enjoy the contrast of warm rice and cool fish at the moment it was intended.
The format is simple by design. Rather than comparing every piece individually, choose the menu that feels right for your appetite and let the meal build its own rhythm. The food is prepared and seasoned in the Nozawa style without substitutions. If you have food allergies, let the team know before ordering. For the current choices and prices, view the Trust Me menus →.
Chef Nozawa's approach begins with the details that matter to each piece. Rice is served warm and lightly packed. Fish is cut to order. Hand rolls are folded just before they are served. That timing is why the best moment to eat the sushi is right away, while the contrast of temperature and texture is still intact.
Whether you are visiting for a familiar favorite or trying a Trust Me for the first time, the experience is meant to feel considered without feeling complicated.
